We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to lead the estimating efforts for large-scale electrical construction projects in the heavy commercial and industrial sectors. This position requires a deep understanding of complex electrical systems, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to produce accurate and competitive estimates for projects ranging from manufacturing plants to distribution centers, infrastructure facilities, and commercial complexes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the preparation of detailed electrical cost estimates for design-build, plan/spec, and negotiated bid projects.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare accurate time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Develop scopes of work and assist with preconstruction planning and scheduling.
- Coordinate and solicit bids from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Conduct value engineering assessments and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess existing conditions and risk factors.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients throughout the bidding and handoff process.
- Maintain and update historical cost data and estimating databases.
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to department process improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical estimating, with a strong emphasis on heavy commercial and/or industrial projects.
- Deep knowledge of NEC, electrical systems, installation techniques, and industry standards.
- Proficiency with estimating software (such as Accubid, Trimble, or similar).
- Strong understanding of labor productivity, material pricing, and cost control.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
