Clinic Nursing Assistant/Receptionist

The Clinic Nursing Assistant is a detail-oriented professional who is organized and hard-working to support our team. A key part of this role involves streamlining processes to help the clinic flow smoothly and to assist the providers and nurses along with covering reception when needed.

Schedule: Monday - Friday

No Major Holidays

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• CNA license preferred. If you do not have, we will train.
• Understanding of the EHR and computer programs such as word, excel, and email.

• Completes all required annual safety training.
• Supports and implements safety into all job responsibilities regarding self, other employees, residents/patients and visitors.
• Maintain the security of company-assigned devices by adhering to IT security protocols, including timely installation of updates, use of strong passwords, and compliance with all cybersecurity policies
• Safeguarding the privacy and security of protected health information (PHI) in any form including electronic, written or oral.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists nurses and providers in daily clinic tasks such as rooming patients and cleaning exam rooms between patients.
• Obtain weights and vital signs (Blood pressure, Temperature, pulse, respiration, and oxygen saturation) and chart appropriately.
• Assists with patient follow-up calls and scheduling as needed.
• Accept payments for services rendered and reconcile receipts cash drawer daily when covering front desk.
• Assists with patient phone messages and refill requests as appropriate.
• Completes lab reminder phone calls prior to appointments.
• Ensures exam rooms are stocked and organized.
• Completes the purchasing order as needed to ensure adequate stock of supplies.
• Distributes the daily faxes to the appropriate staff member or addresses faxes as able.
• Cleaning and handling of sterile instruments used in the clinic.
• Attends other mandatory meetings as necessary
• Maintains BLS certification

Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment and involves daily contact with providers, nurses, and patients in person and on the phone.

Typical Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time or sitting for long periods of time when working at the front desk. Occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for a long period and to work in an environment which can be stressful at times.
