Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. They must demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles, competency, and practice within their scope of expertise, utilizing appropriate age and population-specific standards related to physical and psychosocial needs.
The LPN ensures the health, comfort, and safety of residents, contributes to assessment, administers medications or treatments as ordered, and provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed. They must also document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
The successful candidate will have graduated from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse, hold an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the State Nursing board, and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
