Job Title: Activities Aide/In-Room Aide
Supervisor: Activities Director
Department: Activities
1. Summary of the Position:
To assist the Activities Director and Assistant in the daily operation of the Activities Department as outlined by the Director. To provide in-room activities for residents unable or unwilling to attend out of room activities.
2. Key Responsibilities:
To assist in the transportation of residents to and from activities.
To lead various activities as outlined by the Director.
To visit residents on a weekly basis and offering the following activities: Reading the newspaper, magazines, novel books or offering to take the residents for wheelchair rides or walks around their unit or outside weather permitting. Provide tactile stimulation, assist in writing letters, reading their mail, playing music or Bible Tapes or just being a good listener.
Set up dayrooms in the mornings with music, videotapes, and recreational intervention tools on their specified floor and be responsible for a unit/units of residents for their activities.
Deliver mail/packages/monthly newsletter/flowers.
To give residents a birthday card and singing happy birthday to the residents on their birthdays.
To assist the Director in any tasks deemed necessary to the smooth operation of the department.
