Job Description: CDL Driver
Position Summary: Operates agency vehicles to transports material items to and from GINM sites and approved locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Adherence to the attendance and punctuality policies of Goodwill.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills as related to your position.
- Picks-up and loads donated materials from specified collection points.
- Delivers, pick-up and unloads material items at GINM stores/warehouse or other approved locations.
- Maintains required records and completes and turns in daily paperwork.
- Maintains Commercial Drivers Log (hours and mileage) records according to DOT standards.
- Communicates to the Transportation Manager any and all traffic infractions, citations or accidents whether work or non-work related immediately.
- Ensures trailers maintain weight requirements and are loaded in a safe and efficient manner to minimize shifting and breakage.
- Relocates and stages trailers as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of the companys diverse product base and of items that can and cannot be accepted.
- Ensures that all vehicles are maintained in a safe operating condition.
- Reports needed truck maintenance to supervisor; updates maintenance cards and performs daily safety inspections.
- Provides guiding assistance to other drivers; uses a spotter when necessary to avoid damage to company vehicles.
- Operates company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner and observes all designated speed limits and driving laws while operating vehicle.
- Exhibits cooperation, courtesy and a positive attitude toward the public.
- Assist donors with completing donation receipts as needed.
- Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
- While employed by Goodwill Industries of New Mexico, outside employment with any other employer is prohibited.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of organizational practices, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of and compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county and local laws, regulations, and requirements regarding driving.
- Knowledge of rules of the road and road signage.
- Knowledgeable of the City of Albuquerque and surrounding area.
- Knowledge of forklift and compactor and manual operation of dollies and pallet jacks.
- Ability to train on operating forklift, baler and compactor use; ability to obtain forklift certification.
- Ability to read a map and locate delivery sites.
- Ability to drive safely and efficiently.
- Ability to organize and keep up with documentation (DOT) logs.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to exhibit excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Ability to carry out instructions in verbal and written format.
- Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and people with disabilities.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; see, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, walk, and stand. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift/move up to 75lbs. Exposure to outside weather conditions and exhaust and gas fumes will occur when driving or monitoring the truck. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and or abilities required for the position. Individuals must be able to pass a criminal and CDL background check, and U.S. DOT drug/alcohol test. Individuals must have a valid New Mexico drivers license, insurability under the agency insurance carrier, and a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Two or more years commercial driving experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- New Mexico CDLClass A license and current CDL medical authorization required.
