Job Summary
The Accounting and Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll and performing various accounting duties.
Essential Functions
- Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 200 employees
- Maintain automated time and attendance and payroll records
- Review and verify data accuracy and source documents to ensure timely and accurate timesheet submissions, maintain source documentation
- Monitor and resolve employee payroll questions in a confidential manner
- Assist with federal and state filing requirements including W-2s and 1099s
- Identify and suggest process improvement changes to enhance the overall payroll process
- Process Accounts Payable
- Process Accounts Receivable and cash receipts and monitor aging
- Assist with other projects and duties as assigned in the normal course of business
- Assist with the external financial audit

Qualifications
- Must have 2 years of payroll processing experience and general bookkeeping experience
- Preference to in-house payroll experience
- Knowledge of payroll related regulatory standards
- Basic accounting knowledge of balance sheet, profit loss, chart of accounts
- Excellent problem resolution with strong attention to detail
- Organizational and planning skills
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to bend, stretch, reach and lift to 20 pounds, walking or standing to a significant degree
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in serving the needs of others and a positive attitude toward the community, co-workers, and individuals we serve
