Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Explain recommended repairs and maintenance options clearly, ensuring customers are well-informed
- Write detailed service orders and estimates using auto estimating tools, accurately documenting vehicle issues
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and transmission servicing to enhance customer satisfaction and dealership revenue
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately while processing payments securely
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any further questions or concerns
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of auto service management and customer relations
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures including oil changes, brake repair, suspension, shocks & struts, air brake systems, alignments, tire service, diesel engine repair, transmissions, and auto body repair
- Experience working with service writing software and auto estimating tools to prepare accurate repair orders
- Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes involving mechanic experience or service technician background is highly advantageous
- Excellent communication skills combined with a customer-focused attitude to build rapport and ensure repeat business
- Basic cash handling skills along with sales experience in an automotive setting
