Summary

Practices professional nursing at an excellent level within the Goshen nursing model of care keeping a primary focus on the patient/family using the nursing process, culturally appropriate interventions, and holistic principles with attention to continuity of care and patient advocacy, while maintaining a safe environment. Is a leader in professional nursing both in direct care and in colleague relationships using ethical principles, collaboration, peer review, evidence based practice, and teaching & learning principles.
Responsible for direct patient care, assisting physician and nurse practitioners with office visits, telephone triage, chemotherapy administration, minor office procedures and assisting with radiation therapies.
Position Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Registered nurse with a valid Indiana State RN license. May 1, 2016, Colleagues hired with an Associate’s Degree must enter into a BSN program within 12 months of hire and earn their BSN from a NLN or CCNE accredited program within 5 years of beginning their BSN degree.
- Preferred Education: Basic Dysrhythmia Course.
- Minimum Experience: One year Med/Surg experience.
- Preferred Experience: One to two years’ experience in outpatient clinic or physician office.
- Certifications Required: Healthcare Provider CPR certification. Chemo/biotherapy administration required within 1 yr of hire.
- Certifications Preferred: OCN and/or CRNI certifications preferred. Will be able to sit for the OCN exam within the maximum of 2 years of employment Oncology Nursing Certification, ACLS
