Goshen Homes, a division of Goshen Valley Foundation, is a community based social service organization that provides services for families involved with DFCS as well as in the community. We are currently seeking a SAFE certified Home Study Contractor.
Position Summary: This position is responsible for completing SAFE home studies for foster parents in order to obtain a license.
Responsibilities: The right candidate will assess, evaluate and help train foster parents. Follow up on assessments, surveys, intake paperwork and integrate into the assessment. On average complete 2-4 home visits. Ensure the home study is aligned with RCC standards, Child Welfare policies and RBWO standards.
Home Study Contractor expectations include:
- Determines suitability of prospective and current foster care / adoptive home families. This includes preparation of comprehensive psycho-social home study, interviewing of foster / adoptive parent applicants to evaluate the family’s motivation, functioning and dynamics, and collecting and interpreting collateral information. Assessment is completed according to agency standards for foster or adoptive parent competencies.
- Assures compliance of foster / adoptive home providers with program policies and state licensing or certification requirements. Seeks clarification from their supervisor in areas of uncertainty.
- Provides an awareness of potentially serious problems which may arise in the foster / adoptive care homes and alerts management of such concerns, especially those which may have legal risk or safety ramifications.
- Displays a strong decision making skills.
- Displays effective, clear, concise writing skills.
- This position may require work on nights and weekends.

This is a contract position.
$900/home study (normally averages out to $30-$35 per hour). Completion of SAFE RE-EVALS at $400/Eval.
Part-time to Full-time hour equivalent depending upon need.
Current Mileage Rate Reimbursement: $0.60 per mile

Requirements
SAFE Home Study Assessor needs to meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in the area of behavioral or social sciences, social work, guidance counseling, psychology, childhood education, special education or related field.
- Preferred experience in child welfare, preferably in licensing foster or adoptive families.
- SAFE (Structured Analysis Family Evaluation) Certified
- Must be of good character, and supportive of the programs, policies, and ideals of Goshen Valley Foundation.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide moral, ethical, and spiritual leadership that coincides with the program and policies of GVF.
- Must be able to pass a drug and background screens, possess a valid driver’s license, and be insurable by GVF’s insurance carrier.
Salary : $30 - $35
