What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Gowan Company?
Gowan Milling is looking for a Maintenance Technician at the Yuma facility. This position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Role Responsibilities:- Perform maintenance and repair functions on plant equipment.
- Disassemble, clean, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
- Execute precision repairs and modifications to machinery or systems.
- Operate and maintain industrial-grade equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies while performing duties.
- Utilize MIG, TIG, and Arc welding units, plasma cutter, oxy-acetylene cutting, welding, and brazing equipment.
- Use precision measuring tools and instruments for repairs.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints and plans to ensure accurate repair and maintenance.
- Safely operate forklifts, power tools, and other necessary equipment.
- Supply and use personal hand tools for repairs and maintenance.
- Perform any other maintenance tasks as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical training or certification in maintenance or related field preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with industrial-grade equipment, including the ability to maintain and repair such equipment.
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Arc welding techniques, along with other related welding equipment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols in an industrial environment.
- Capable of following detailed written and verbal instructions in English.
- Ability to read and follow electrical blueprints and plans.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of working in confined spaces and operating power tools safely.
- Forklift operation experience preferred.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs, with occasional heavy lifting over 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working at heights and in varying conditions.
- Ability to move throughout the plant site and production buildings.
- Regularly required to descend/ascend stairs.
- Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, push, pull, and crawl.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Must adhere to safety protocols and use protective equipment as necessary.
