Steel Estimator Overview: As a Steel Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in estimating and preparing bids for a variety of commercial construction projects. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to sales efforts by building strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Steel Estimator Key Responsibilities
- Estimating & Bidding: Prepare accurate steel estimates for commercial construction projects, including schools, office buildings, and warehouses. Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to determine scope and materials.
- Sales & Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients, architects, and general contractors to understand project needs and provide competitive bids. Maintain relationships and follow up on project opportunities.
- Cost Analysis & Budgeting: Review project requirements and costs, and ensure all estimates are within budget. Advise on material choices and alternative solutions to meet both design and budgetary constraints.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with the project management and fabrication teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and efficient project execution.
- Growth & Advancement: Opportunity to take on more responsibility, including managing projects from start to finish ("cradle-to-grave"), and leading teams through the design, fabrication, and installation phases.
- Experience: 3 years of experience in steel estimating, with a focus on structural and miscellaneous steel for commercial projects.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, structural steel design, and industry standards. Familiarity with estimating software is a plus.
- Skills: Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Sales Acumen: Ability to develop and maintain client relationships and demonstrate strong sales capabilities.
