The Company –
GPM, Inc. (GPM) is a company with annual revenues of $20 million and over 60 employees. The corporate office and manufacturing facility are in Duluth, MN. The company has offices in Apple Valley, MN, and Bismarck, ND with sales offices throughout the United States. Approximately 40% of the company’s revenues are the result of manufacturing and marketing its proprietary line of slurry pumps which are primarily sold in the mining, utility, and energy industries. Approximately 40% of the company’s revenues come from the sales and distribution of products from leading companies such as Flowserve, Sundyne, Toshiba, and Howden. Repair services for all products represented by the company comprise the remainder of the company’s core business.
Position Description –
Production workers are responsible for the mass production of a specific product in a manufacturing or production facility. Production worker's duties vary from operating machinery, assembling materials or equipment, carrying out inspections, and quality control. Typical career advancements for production workers include a managerial or supervisory role.
Qualifications –
The ideal candidate for the position shall have:
Education:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience and Skills:
· Prior experience in a production setting preferred
· Familiar with production equipment and machinery
· Sharp attention to detail in favor of identifying defects
· Self-driven and hard worker
· Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
· Flexible to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as required
· Able to stand for long hours at a time
· Computer knowledge required
· Knowledge of induction motors electricity, and/or pumps is recommended
· Able to withstand hot temperatures in the production room
· Physically able to lift, carry and move up to 60lbs
Responsibilities –
- Maintaining a clean workstation and production floor.
- Assembling products and parts.
- Following production guidelines and specifications.
- Finalizing and packaging products for shipment.
- Operating and maintaining machinery and production line equipment.
- Monitoring the assembly line and removing faulty products.
- Working on the production line and meeting production targets.
- Reporting any issues to the supervisor on duty.
- Performing other tasks as assigned.
- Cable Stripping and potting.
- Friction fit stator installation.
- Friction fit rotor re-shafting.
- Impeller re-hubs.
- Rotor and impeller balancing.
- Part inspection and testing.
Reporting –
The Production Worker position reports directly to the Production Lead.
Conditions –
This position is at times physically demanding with periods of continuous heaving lifting possible. It is primarily set in an indoor industrial setting, with outdoor exposure at times, particularly with driving. Work may require occasional weekend and/or extended morning/evening hours when necessary.
Location –
Duluth, MN. Office.
