What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher - Part-Time Extended Day position at GPS Solutions LLC?
JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this position is to facilitate the learning process for students ensuring adherence to the state's educational requirements and objectives as well as district and schoolwide curriculum goals. As an Interventionist, you will design, coordinate, and implement an instructional program that creates an educational environment fostering students' emotional and academic growth, enabling them to reach their full potential.
Required Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individual or up to 1:6 group intervention strategies: Design and implement effective intervention strategies to support students who are struggling academically or social-emotionally
- Star Assessment: Administer and analyze assessments to identify students in need of intervention and determine appropriate intervention strategies based on their individual needs.
- Monitor student progress: Every 8-10 weeks assess and monitor the progress of students receiving interventions, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to ensure their continued growth and improvement.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff: Work closely with classroom teachers, administrators, and support staff to coordinate interventions, share student progress data, and implement strategies that promote student success.
- Communicate with families, parent/guardians: Regularly communicate with parents/guardians to share information about their child's progress, discuss intervention strategies, and collaborate on ways to support their child's academic and social-emotional growth.
- Maintain accurate records: Keep detailed and accurate records of student intervention plans, progress monitoring data, and communication with parents, ensuring compliance with relevant federal and district guidelines.
- At your school(s): Attend meetings and professional development: Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and workshops to collaborate with colleagues, share best practices, and enhance professional growth.
- Attend 2-hour minimum Professional Developments (virtual or in-person) when no students/school PD not applicable for you.
- Attend GPS Solutions Professional Developments as required
- Attends minimum of one parent/family night and parent teacher conferences
- Attend a GPS Solutions led Restorative Practice (RP) Training and incorporate RP in your daily interactions with students, staff and families.
- Maintains appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance and appropriate use of conference and planning time.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Potential duties & responsibilities
- Utilize evidence-based practices: Implement Orton-Gillingham Literacy program, research-based intervention techniques and strategies that have been proven effective in supporting students' academic and behavioral development.
- Provide professional development: Offer professional development opportunities and resources to teachers and staff to enhance their understanding of intervention strategies and their ability to support struggling students effectively.
- Aid in completing geocoding with their coordinator and administration
- Incorporate multi-sensory approach to reading
- Collaborate with other GPS Solutions Staff
Education Requirement:
- A minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited university or passing of Michigan WorkKeys Assessment
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s of Science or Arts in Education
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate and applicable endorsement(s) as required by the Michigan Department of Education
- Meet highly qualified teacher requirements
Other Performance Expectations:
Administrative Functions:
- Communicate with immediate supervisor, your GPS Solutions admin team, and appropriate school- level staff concerning assigned programs and activities.
- Encourage and participate in cooperative working relationships.
- Perform all assignments following established policies and procedures set by the school and GPS Solutions.
Human Resource Functions:
- Maintain current knowledge of and implement GPS Solutions Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.
Student/Family/Staff Confidentiality Functions:
- Maintain confidentiality of all student, family, and staff information.
- All GPS Solutions staff are mandated reporters, please research your role in your state.
- Maintain current knowledge of code of ethics, ASCA/NASW, FERPA and other applicable state and federal confidentiality requirements.
Quality Improvement Functions:
- Develop and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
Payroll Functions:
- Submit all Compliance documents needed to PNP Payroll staff on due date
