We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our manufacturing and assembly operations, focusing on both mechanical and electrical aspects. Your responsibilities will include executing assembly tasks, conducting basic troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment functionality. This position requires proficiency in utilizing routine work orders, drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, parts and wire lists, and written/verbal instructions to fabricate mechanical and electrical assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components within a shop environment.
Responsibilities:
Following operating instructions, including both written and verbal descriptions.
Using protective equipment when required, and using equipment and materials properly.
Determining actions to resolve errors or malfunctions.
Entering data on computer terminal such as progress, work expense and labor details.
Using power and hand tools to assemble mechanical parts as specified in drawings:
- Knowledge of using drill press, miter saw, band saw, power tools, etc.
- Drilling and tapping of screw holes
- Cutting of stock metal to length
- Riveting
- Sanding/Filing
- Sand blasting
Using electrical hand tools to fabricate and assemble cable harnesses and connector assemblies.
- Cutting/stripping/tinning wire
- Crimping wire pins/sockets
- Assembling wire/cable connectors
- Soldering board level components and cable connectors
Utilizing extrusions, sub-assemblies and components for manufacturing of systems.
Utilizing test fixtures and electronic measurement equipment for testing of electro-mechanical systems.
Inspecting parts for defects using measuring tools such as calipers, dial indicators, levels, etc.
Troubleshooting and improving manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in production assembly of electronic and mechanical equipment.
- High level of skill in use of hand and power tools used in light manufacturing.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret technical specifications, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Basic understanding of electrical/electronic systems or principles.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Proficient in standard computer operation within the Microsoft Windows environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in a technical or similar field.
- Proficiency with standard computer operation in Microsoft Windows (Installing OS, configuring network, etc.).
- Knowledge of CAD and CAM.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
