What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Grafton Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery?
Grafton Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery is looking to add a Full-Time quality team member who exhibits the core values of integrity, excellence, and harmony. Candidate must be willing to travel to all office locations (Houma, Morgan City, Raceland, Thibodaux).
Responsibilities
In general, the responsibilities to start would be:
- Obtaining a medical history on electronic medical records
- Perform basic clinical, administrative, and housekeeping duties.
- Will interact directly with patients while taking and recording vital signs, preparing patients for exams and procedures, drawing blood, administering medications, removing sutures, and performing simple wound care.
- Will collect, prepare and run simple laboratory tests and sterilize medical equipment.
- Will assist the front desk with various administrative duties as requested.
- This person will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the waiting area and examination rooms, and monitoring and documenting supply levels.
- Specimen Collections
- Wound dressing
- Injections
- Phlebotomy
In addition, the below responsibilities would be taught over time:
- Scribe for physicians
- Assist with office procedures/surgeries
- Telephone triage
- Surgery and cosmetic scheduling
- Explain procedures and aftercare instructions to patients
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Previous experience in the medical field (Preferred)
