Special Education Teacher

November 6, 2024 Granby Public Schools Special Education Teacher /Interventionist The Granby Public School District is seeking candidates to fill a Full-Time Special Education Teacher/Interventionist position. The teacher will work with students identified as requiring more intensive reading/math instruction, as well as supporting teachers and administration in guiding initiatives around improving in-district reading instruction, curriculum, and assessment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ***Providing reading intervention services to students identified as requiring intensive literacy support or 1:1 or small group ***Providing math intervention services to students identified as requiring intensive math supports ***Writing IEP Goals and Progress Notes. ***Attending IEP meetings and act as liaison for a small group of students ***Working collaboratively with teachers and the building administration to develop and articulate a data-informed process for identifying students who need reading/math intervention and benchmarks necessary to indicate interventions are no longer necessary at that time ***Participating in initiatives and providing guidance to staff around reading curriculum and instruction ***Assisting teachers with an evaluation of student growth and planning of classroom interventions acting as a resource for curriculum initiatives ***Working collaboratively with the building administration in the planning and implementation of reading supports for students ***Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Director of Pupil Services QUALIFICATIONS: ***Possess a current Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Moderate Disabilities ***Certification in a research-based, formal reading program OR willingness to be trained. ***Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and administration. ***Demonstrate knowledge of a range of literacy strategies, interventions, and assessments.
