What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at Grand Blanc Township?
- Provide competent, safe supervision of aquatic facilities.
- Actively guards and scans the pool area at all times; refrains from socializing while guarding.
- Performs First-Aid or CPR when needed and reports all accidents to the Aquatics Supervisor
- Enforces Grand Blanc Parks and Recreation and Grand Blanc Community School rules.
- Provide for consistency by working each assigned period.
- Participate in monthly in-service trainings.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Turn in all required paperwork.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Must Have:
- Be a capable swimmer.
- Hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification and recertify as needed.
- Hold current certifications in adult, child, and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation and training in 2-person and resuscitation barriers.
- Wear prescribed uniform.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug testing and criminal background check.
Preferred:
- Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.
- Previous lifeguarding experience.
Work Environment:
While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to water, heat and humidity (non-weather). Noise level is usually moderate.
