What are the responsibilities and job description for the College of Natural Sciences - Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (NFWS) position at Grand Canyon University?
Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:
1. Attend and be prepared to support course content and assigned instructors in every class.
2. Assist instructor with in-class activities, including proctoring examinations.
3. Observe student performance and record relevant data to aid assigned instructor in assessing student progress and class participation.
4. Grade assessments and class participation.
5. Hold face-to-face office hours on a regular basis to support learners academically.
6. Coordinate study groups outside of class to tutor students on class material.
7. May facilitate additional ad hoc workshops as a refresher to classroom formal lecture.
8. Proctor occasional make up examinations/assignments. Communicate with assigned instructor on a regular basis.
9. Check assigned my.gcu.edu email and Halo Learn digital classroom forums regularly.
10. Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior congruent with GCU’s pillars and mission with a commitment to Christian ideals and philosophy.
11. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Candidate must be currently enrolled and maintain full time active enrollment in GCU program and have completed significant portion of the program.
- Must have sufficient courses in discipline of assistance needed as well as having received a grade of B or higher in each.
- Must pass pre-employment background investigations.
Experience/Education:

- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
