CSLP Student Worker - Faith-Based Partnerships Coordinator (FWS-CSLP)

Position Summary/Purpose:

Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) by virtue of their charitable programs. The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents’ needs.

GCU maintains a partnership with Callahan Care at 5115 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ, 85017. Callahan Care provides, free of cost, several ways to the Phoenix community: free open closets, free open pantries, free furniture, free home goods, and free classes such as ESL, financial literacy, and resume building. The CSLP student worker’s work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of Callahan Care; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall/spring).

CSLP: This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Per 34 CFR 675.2(b), community services are defined as, “Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need.” These services must be open and accessible to the community.

As an FWS-CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non-GCU community members (i.e., local residents).

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

• Supervise all delivery processes to guarantee efficient, accurate, and timely service for partner churches and their congregations.

• Maintain Callahan Care’s quality standards across all delivery operations, ensuring a consistent and reliable service.

• Build and nurture partnerships with churches across Arizona, creating opportunities for them to support local families through Callahan Care.

• Provide ongoing support to church leaders, helping them expand their outreach and delivery services to meet community needs.

• Utilize CarePortal and GCU CityServe resources to help church leaders implement sustainable delivery processes tailored to local needs.

• Develop best practices for churches to follow, ensuring delivery processes are effective, efficient, and responsive to community demands.

• Other duties as assigned.

• MS Office Suite

Qualifications:

• Have passion and willingness to help others succeed.

• Possess strong ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility.

• Must have reliable transportation.

• Previous Mentoring a plus.

• Ability to speak a second language a plus.

Experience/Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

• Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.

• Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.

• Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
