Responsibilities
The Insurance Clerk performs a variety of office clerical duties in connection with inpatient and outpatient insurance billings and payments. The insurance clerk also assists with coverage of hospital switchboard.
Essential Functions:
-Records and maintains complete and accurate transactions and patient billing information in the Hospital’s billing system in order to submit timely and accurate bills to patients and third parties.-Processes work-lists and reports as may be assigned according to established procedures.-Responds in a timely manner to questions or request for information received from Hospital departments, other staff members, patients and insurance companies.-Submits bills to patients and third parties as may be assigned according to established procedures.-Performs other task/functions as may be assigned.
Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
Qualifications
Education and Experience:High School Diploma/GED required
Skills and Abilities:- Ability to listen to others- Demonstrated written communication skills- Strong verbal communication and listening skills
- Excellent organizational skills
