Summary: Local, family-owned retail business seeks responsible, motivated team player to assist in all aspects of inventory purchasing. This position will work with another purchasing clerk to manage $2.5M in inventory. Position requires 40 hours per week. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyzes inventory reports to identify and eliminate overstock and dead stock issues
- Assists with administration of daily cycle count
- Evaluates vendor delivery dates, costs, and terms to optimize shipping decisions
- Follows-up with vendors regarding late deliveries.
- Works with Accounting to address variance between purchase orders and vendor invoices
- Conducts document matching and receives inventory into the system
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Required/Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
- 3 years of experience in purchasing/procurement or related field
- Proficient in Office, specifically Excel
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Experience with Epicor Eagle highly desirable
Physical Demands:
- This is a largely sedentary role; The ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend may be necessary.
