What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Crew Chief position at Grant Shepherd & Associates, Inc.?
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform topographic and boundary surveys and construction staking
- Ensure accuracy of field work
- Perform field calculations including level reductions, traverse calculations and calculations for construction layouts
- Operate and maintain Leica survey equipment (Total Station, GPS and Digital Levels)
- Make proper field notes and sketches
- Ensure proper maintenance of crew vehicle
- Adhere to all applicable safety procedures
- Other duties as necessary to complete complex survey projects
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Good mathematical and communication skills
- Preferred two years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or Instrument Person
- Proficiency of field survey methods
- Desire to further career in surveying
- Desire to work with a highly skilled Registered Land Surveyor to learn advanced survey techniques
- Ability to work overtime and travel throughout the state of Georgia
- Physically able to work outdoors under all conditions
- Ability to handle multiple tasks within same day
- Commitment to detail and quality
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
