An Estates & Probate Attorney I is mid-level attorney with 3 years' experience practicing law. The successful Estates Attorney I is self-directed and thrives with lots of support and autonomy. The Estates Attorney I generally receive a substantial portion (approximately 80%) of their work through Gravis Law's lead generation and marketing and/or other attorneys in the office. An Estates Attorney I is expected to generate a portion (20%) of their own billable work and attend two events per quarter. Attorneys have access to coaching and support services for business development and networking. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mediation experience is highly preferred.
- Trial experience preferred but not required.
- Researching and analyzing the law on complex legal issues.
- Writing memorandums, briefs, letters, and other documents.
- Marketing your and the firm's services to prospective clients.
- Performing discovery of various electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation.
- Performing due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions
- Communicating and advising clients.
- Managing a schedule to allow for consults and closure of consults to sufficient reach production/collection objectives. Depending on practice area this may include outside core hour and weekend consults.
- Closing consults within Gravis range of 30-50% depending on practice area.
- Timely approval of invoices is critical to the health of the business on a month-to-month basis monthly cycle. Failure to do so on a recurring basis may result in disciplinary and timely financial.
- Ensure support staff are fully utilized and productive.
- Accurately and completely update CC with fees, engagement, trust, client information, invoices etc. as required.
- If over-subscribed share work tasks with other attorney and support staff to ensure we are meeting our objective to serve our communities.
- Actively engage in brand (personal and firm) expansion through blogs social media posts, board, and organization participation, etc.
- Actively seek positive comments from successful client engagements and positive star reviews.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
The Attorney is expected to bill an average of 1500 hours annually, with collections expected on 1400 hours of invoices worked while working a full-time employment schedule. This roughly translates to billing 30 hours per week at 50 weeks annually.
Compensation details: 90000-100000 Yearly Salary
