Property Accounting Manager

Grayson Search has partnered with one of Chicago's premier PE-backed Real Estate companies located in the heart of Chicago in their search for a Property Accounting Manager. The company acquires, develops, and manages real estate assets across the United States.

Position Overview

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting packages including reviewing ledger detail,
• preparing/reviewing adjusting journal entries, and supporting schedules for GAAP-based financial statements.
• Research monthly budget variances and assist community and asset management teams with variance explanations.
• Assist community teams and asset managers with annual budget preparation.
• Distribute financial reporting packages to joint venture partners.
• Prepare lender reporting packages, and debt covenant calculations and work directly with the accounting manager to ensure compliance with loan requirements.
• Prepare joint venture-level reporting packages
• Reconcile fixed asset and depreciation schedules
• Research and respond to fund accounting, tax, audit, or investor inquiries pertaining to the operating financials.
• Prepare property acquisition and disposition journal entries.
• Lead the onboarding and set up of property acquisitions.
• Interact with and review for accuracy and consistency work prepared by third-party financial preparers
• Review & approve bank reconciliations & journal entries
• Calculate and project monthly cash flow distributions
• Assist the Property Accounting Manager with ad hoc projects as needed.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5 years of relevant experience in Real Estate Accounting
• Strong knowledge of GAAP compliance
• Experience working in Entrata/Yardi, plus but not required
• Experience with property acquisitions/dispositions, plus but not required
