Electrician Helper

Great Atlantic Contracting has been in the construction and renovation industry since 1977. We are locally owned, based in Virginia Beach, VA, and currently operate 17 self-storage facilities throughout Virginia. We are currently looking to expand our operations and have an opening for an Electrician Helper.

Primary Duties:

• Utilize basic hand and power tools for daily operations, which includes knowledge of saws, threaders, wire tuggers, knock punches, and any tool associated with the electrical industry.
• Effectively and efficiently run and pull cabling and properly terminate ends.
• Changing ballasts in light fixtures.
• Replacing switches and receptacles.
• Replacing or installing light fixtures or repairing internal components.
• Installing contractors, photocells, conduits, boxes, fittings, and all wiring.
• Testing and installing telephone and data equipment, including cameras, monitors, and television systems.
• Perform any related work as assigned or specified by the company or client requirements, which may change often.

Role Requirements:

• A minimum of three (3) years of related electrical assembly experience in point-to-point wiring and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work off ladders.
• Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record to access company vehicles.
• Ability to use software to track jobs assigned.
