What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Service Aide position at Great Explorations Children's Museum?
Overview:
This full-time position will work closely with our Facilities Manager to ensure the cleanliness of the facility and the janitorial needs of the museum. The Environmental Service Aide will be responsible for keeping our building in a clean and orderly condition.
Schedule: Wednesday – Sunday approximately 35-40 hours with potential for more based on the needs of the facility
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them
· Gather and empty trash
· Service, clean, and supply restrooms within our facility
· Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
· Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners and cleaning materials provided
· Dust furniture, walls, exhibits (including high dusting)
· Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
· Perform and document routine cleaning inspections
· Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for cleaning.
· Follow all health and safety regulations.
· Be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs as needed.
· Deep clean exhibits
· Other job duties as required by management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· High school diploma
· Proven working experience as a janitor
· Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
· Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
· Integrity and ability to work independently
· Must work well with others
· Be able to work nights or weekends as needed
Candidates will be required to pass a background check and Level 2 fingerprinting clearance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
