What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at Great Lakes Forest Products, Inc.?
General Summary:
Forklift Operator is responsible for the movement of material from inventory to production and back to inventory. Maintains correct paperwork and production records are required. The position pays based on your years of experience paying up to $25 an hour. We also offer a $4/hr. attendance bonus to all workers paid out on a weekly basis.
Description:
- Provides production departments with material from inventory according to production schedule
- Moves material in process from one station to another (if necessary).
- Bands, wraps and/or packs finished goods, and labels material.
- Moves finished goods from production area to finished goods inventory (yard or warehouse).
- Assist production with bottle necks and other material needs.
- Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Completes pre-shift/startup equipment checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
- Maintains rough material and finished goods inventory yard organized and clean.
- Completes production records are required.
- Follows forklift rules and policies.
- Participates in safety, other programs and meetings.
- Performs other duties as required
Physical Demands:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and occasional fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 65% sitting, 20% walking, and 15% standing.
