Assembler – 1 st Shift – Salina, KS
Great Plains Mfg is seeking a 1 st Shift Assembler for our new Construction Equipment (CE) facility in Salina, KS.
This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as required.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
No prior experience or training is required; however, the following traits are helpful:

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Follow and complete daily build schedule
- Assemble prototypes
- Bolt, clip, screw, cement, or otherwise fasten parts together by hand, or using hand tools or portable power tools.
- Read and interpret engineering prints and use a tape measure as required.
- Tend machines and use tools, such as impact wrenches, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
- Work at different work stations as production needs require.
- Work on line where tasks vary as different model of same article moves along line or at a fixed assembly station.
- Monitor assembly tasks and recommend quality improvement initiatives to the assembly/shipping manager.
- Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
No prior experience or training is required; however, the following traits are helpful:
- Ability to give strong attention to detail and stay on-task in a fast-paced environment
- Have a good understanding of team concepts and be a strong team player
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools; ability to read engineering prints and tape measure
- Capable of embracing a culture of Lean Manufacturing and implementation of change
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to maintain excellent attendance
- Must have ability to obtain a forklift license
- Ability to follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required
