Great Plains AG Regional Sales Manager-Eastern Region

 

Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to partner, support and lead the Great Plains Ag Division’s East Region.  The Regional Sales Manager at Great Plains leads the strategic planning and execution of all sales activities, dealer account management, and aftersales support.  This position leads the management and development of 13 Territory Managers covering all states east of the Mississippi River plus Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana. The ideal candidate will live in one of the states in the territory. The role reports to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Establishes Territory Managers goals pertaining to dealer management elements of wholesale planning, retail execution, parts stocking and sales, inventory management, product training, and other areas as they arise. 
  • Grow, develop, and support the team of Territory Managers toward achievement of their goals.
  • Coach and Train Territory Managers to effectively sell, demonstrate, and support the complete Great Plains product portfolio.
  • Support Territory Managers concerning product and various dealer issues.  
  • Work with Territory Managers on show arrangements, products, and agendas.
  • Lead regional dealer development activities including inventory management, dealer performance metrics and tracking, dealer prospecting, and dealer onboarding through Ag Playbook.
  • Coordinate and support aftersales activities with the Great Plains Service team.
  • Define and execute appropriate retention and succession planning for the Region.
  • Support new product development and launch activities through voice-of-customer sessions, market input, and after-launch follow-up to ensure customer acceptance.


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 years dealer management and field sales experience required.
  • Excel in people development with attention to managing for growth.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel more than 50% of the time.
  • Highly motivated self-starter 
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal or no supervision.
  • Committed to quality work.
  • Willing to complete tasks in a time sensitive environment.
  • Strong collaboration and issue resolution experience.
