Open accounts for members, professionally handle member’s daily inquiries/needs, maintain accurate transactional records and cash handling. Provide a variety of transaction services to members including loan processing, closing, and disbursal.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions
- Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and review ATM IP-Hub checks for proper processing.
- Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals and deposits accurately. Pay out cash making sure proper verification is completed and signatures are verified.
- Promote, explain, and cross-sell marketing promotions and credit union products services such as, certificate of deposit/rates, ATM/debit, reloadable and gift cards and online banking/mobile banking products.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of policies, procedures and trends in the credit union industry, with attention to the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act and Robbery procedures.
- Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift; research and resolve any discrepancies by following procedures/policy.
- Set up New Consumer and Business Accounts and provide members with all necessary information for membership. Service existing accounts; identify and promote products and services that would best meet their financial needs.
- Process all types of consumer loans, e.g., personal, auto, overdraft, business and secured loans.
- Provide basic mortgage information to members and submit mortgage applications through the Greater Alliance web site.
- Process Stop Payments, wire transfers etc.
- Have the availability to:
- Assist other branches
- Assist with opening/closing of the branches.
- Assist with Home Equity closings
- Training buddy for new hires
- Respond to members’ requests, problems, and complaints, resolving issues, and/or directing them to the appropriate person for specific information and assistance. May handle more complex questions and problems for other Member Service Representatives.
- Up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules and regulations
- Approve member exceptions and authorize service fee refunds to members when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Six months to two years of similar or related experience
