Greater Philadelphia Community Alliance (GPCA) is a deeply-embedded neighborhood-based nonprofit agency serving nearly 8,000 children, youth, adults, and families in the Point Breeze section of South Philadelphia. Greater Philadelphia Community Alliance is a multi-purpose social service agency emphasizing education and skill-building while providing early childhood education as an integral function of its mission to serve Point Breeze’s low-income community. Greater Philadelphia Community Alliance has been providing a comprehensive array of services to children and adults in the Point Breeze neighborhood of South Philadelphia for over a century. Services include:
· For young children: Early childhood education
· For school-age and high school youth: Out-of-school time programming (after school and summer camp); and case management for at-risk youth
· For adults: Employment training, parenting education, energy assistance programs, housing counseling programs, and financial literacy; and
· For the community at large: Affordable housing and community economic development
STATUS: Part Time; Non Exempt
Monday through Friday 2:00pm-5:30pm
SUMMARY: 21CCLC Program Instructors will engage youth to plan and implement student-driven, project-based activities that will incorporate relevant academic content and build 21st Century Skills, such as teamwork, collaboration, problem-solving and critical thinking. Responsibilities:
· Engage groups of youth to implement technology-focused project-based learning
· Engage groups of youth to design and implement STEM-focused project-based learning, service-learning, and/or experiential learning projects
· Supervise and mentor youth during recreational, physical, academic, and project-based programs.
· Communicate with parents
· Enforce administration policies and rules governing students
· Participate in team meetings, trainings and professional development opportunities.
· Take attendance regularly for assigned group
· Support the Site Coordinator in maintaining accurate attendance data and reports
Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required; college preferred
· At least 1 year experience working with youth in an afterschool, day camp, or community program setting
· Familiarity and experience with diverse populations and culture competencies strongly desired
· Experience with Microsoft application (word, power point, excel, one drive).

· Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Physical Demands
Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise youth activities
Additional Application Requirements
· Must be able to pass a Background Records Check prior to working directly with program youth
· Verification of education and work experience for the Position.
· Ability to work on school early dismissal days from 11:30am-5:30pm
Job Type: Part-time
