Greater Valley Health Center has been serving the Flathead Valley since 2007. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, GVHC provides the highest quality of care and a comprehensive list of services to meet all our community healthcare needs. Our health center provides a fee scale that ensures that no services are denied based on the inability to pay andis dedicated to providing patient centered, integrated primary medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare for all ages.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role : these duties are the essential functions and are not all-inclusive of all duties that the incumbent performs.

  • Provides leadership to the clinical programs of GVHC including medical, population health, school-based care, and care management.
  • Coordinates activities to maximize efficacy while ensuring efficiency and avoiding duplication of resources.
  • Ensures implementation of evidence-based best practices.
  • With the leadership team, works to implement the GVHC strategic plan through the development of goals and objectives.
  • Ensures clinical departments have plans in place to reach their goals. As necessary, participates in the planning and development of clinical programs and sites.
  • Participates in the development of the GVHC budget to ensure effective operation of the Health Center and achievement of identified goals and objectives. Monitors established budgets providing explanation for variances. When necessary, brings forward needs for budget adjustment or revision.
  • Serves as a member of the GVHC Quality Council in developing the comprehensive quality plan including development of department-specific goals and objectives. Ensures that departments are effectively working toward achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Assists in the identification and development of performance improvement projects, by standardizing workflows.

Experience :

  • Must have a minimum of five years of clinical experience.
  • Two or more years of experience supervising and mentoring employees, including experience with ability to supervise students and professionals with provisional licenses.
  • Three or more years in clinic administration and budgeting, preferably in a medical clinic setting.
  • Experience with Federally Qualified Health Center.
  • Experience with clinic operations and billing practices.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practices for services provided at GVHC and ability to ensure implementation.
  • Utilizes quality improvement principles, such as PDSA and A3 thinking, to design, develop, implement, and sustain True North initiatives for their respective services lines and committees.
  • Knowledge and ability to implement strategic planning, progress tracking and countermeasure design.
  • Knowledge of community health center funding, policy and procedure development and adherence, OSHA, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Knowledge of Value Based Care (VBC) modeling and operational design.
  • Knowledge of national quality measures and population health. Ability to assist in the development of GVHC quality goals and objectives.
  • Proven ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments and shows appropriate decision making.
  • Proven effectiveness and experience educating others (medical, dental and behavioral health providers and support staff) to allow them to reach their full potential.
  • Proven organizational skills, exhibits ability to prioritize tasks and shows appropriate attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to exercise judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions, and the skills to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a calm, consistent, equitable manner.
  • Proven ability to work as a team member, interfacing with patients, providers, medical support staff, and members of the community as well as with other GVHC administrative and support staff.
  • Ability to adhere to the Code of Ethics and professional standards by their respective field.
  • Knowledge of health record keeping in eCW.
  • Knowledge of principles for engaging patients with sensitivity to cultural diversity and social determinants of health.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
