About the Role:
Green Meadows Partners, a locally owned recruiting and consulting firm, is assisting our client in hiring a Construction Accountant/Bookkeeper. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable from entry to disbursement, ensuring proper approvals and timely payments
- Verify subcontractor payment requests for compliance with contracts, insurance requirements, and lien releases
- Reconcile vendor statements monthly
- Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales tax returns
- Record monthly inventory transactions, including cost tracking and journal entries
- Oversee fixed asset lifecycle (purchases, disposals), including vehicle registration, insurance, and internal rate setup
- Maintain and reconcile select general ledger accounts
- Prepare cost analyses and financial documentation for project closeouts
- Support the CFO with general accounting tasks, month/year-end closings, insurance audits, and system improvements
- Identify and document process improvement opportunities
Requirements:
- 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, or an Associate’s Degree in Accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite; familiarity with construction accounting software preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Exceptional customer service skills and professionalism
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Maintains confidentiality and integrity with sensitive information
- Ability to pass a background check
