Memory Care Programming Coordinator Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • This position reports to the Director of Entertainment and Programming
  • Under the direction of the Director of Entertainment and Programming, assists with planning, coordinating, and implementing activities and entertainment programs in Memory Care
  • Assist with procuring groups, organizations, and individuals to perform for or instruct the Residents as part of the Memory Care Activity program
  • Provide periodic resident services seminars providing an overview of programs
  • Conduct activities scheduled and provides support to those individuals performing or instructing the Residents
  • Assist with coordination of environmental improvement in the community by interest area development and enhancement by continually adding and improving areas to stimulate resident interests
  • Activities may be scheduled seven days a week to include special events and some evening events
  • Assist the Director of Entertainment and Programming in providing recreational, business and medical transportation to residents
  • Assist in completing vehicle safety and maintenance records on all vehicles driven
  • Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle
  • Assist in maintaining transportation supplies including gas needed for activities
  • Frequent transporting of residents in wheelchairs
  • Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. floor to waist, lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 40 lbs., and push/pull 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents
  • Drive residents to events as needed

Memory Care Programming Coordinator Work Experience:

  • A minimum of one years’ experience in a similar position
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working directly with the elderly or individuals with disabilities and or MCI
  • Experience planning and coordinating events
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, and the use of Internet resources
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • The ability to read, write and communicate with residents
  • Outstanding customer service skills with caring and compassionate behavior towards others
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings

  • Must be medically able and willing to wear a NIOSH-approved tight-fitting respirator (N95 mask), if required by and in accordance with federal or state regulations or Spectrum policy.
