Job Overview

Duties

  • Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Support students in understanding and completing assignments, ensuring they grasp key concepts in subjects such as math and literacy education.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment through effective classroom management strategies.
  • Collaborate with educators to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students requiring specialized support.
  • Provide care and supervision during activities, including recess, lunch, and other school events.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each child's education.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education practices, including deaf education and Montessori methods.

Skills

  • Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is essential.
  • Knowledge of deaf education practices is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills to effectively support diverse student needs.
