Industrial Electrical Helper (Greer, SC - MGR)

The Industrial Electrical Helper is responsible for assisting the industrial electrician journeyman with the construction, installation, modification, maintenance, and repairs of electrical, apparatus, systems, facilities, and related electronic controls of varying design or complexity. 

Position Responsibilities - Essential 

• Assists with performing the functions of construction, installation, modification, maintenance, and repairs of electrical appliances, apparatus, systems, facilities, and related electronic controls and devices. 
• Gathers tools and supplies to be used at the work site, according to instructions. 
• Assists with measuring, cutting, and bending wire and conduit, using ruler and hand tools. 
• Drills holes for wiring, using power drill, and pulls or pushes wiring through opening. 
• Assists in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects, such as wiring, conduit, and motors. 
• Performs minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches, using hand tools. 
• Assists with disassembling defective electrical equipment, replacing defective or worn parts, reassembling equipment, using hand tools. 
• Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities. 
• Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position

Essential Skills and Experience

• High School diploma or GED equivalent 
• Experience in industrial electrical industry: 
  • Level 3 Helper – 1 year to 1 ½ years of experience 
  • Level 4 Helper – 1 ½ years to 2 years of experience 
  • Level 5 Helper – 2 years to 2 ½ years of experience 
  • Level 6 Helper – 2 ½ years to 3 years of experience 
  • Level 7 Helper – 3 years of experience 
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency 
• Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on quantity and quality 
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment 
• Demonstrates a high level of customer service and strong communication (both listening and speaking) and interpersonal skills 
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job 
• Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture  
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s) 

Beneficial Skills and Experience

•  Greater than two years of experience in Industrial Electrical Field
