JOB DESCRIPTION
The CONSTRUCTION – EXCAVATION LABORER is an integral part of the excavation crew. They work closely with the heavy equipment operators to assist in the excavation and underground utility installation process. The laborer will perform manual labor with opportunities to learn additional skills such as pipe laying and heavy equipment operation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Pre-employment and random drug screening that includes Marijuana
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Valid Driver’s License
- Good driving record

- Willingness to work outside year-round
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Willingness to take direction and follow instructions
- Ability to learn new skills and remember processes
- Experience using power and hand tools
- Physically fit with a willingness to work hard
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Communicate effectively
- CDL A is a plus
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set and check grade
- Shovel and grade trenches
- Assist with pipe laying
- Operate plate compactor or jumping jack to compact rock and soil
- Safely operate power and hand tools
- Assist with traffic control
- Other manual labor as needed
- Maintain and be responsible for individual tools
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment
- Perform construction duties as part of a team
- Work efficiently to meet strict deadlines
- Adhere to workplace safety and environmental practices
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other contractors
PAY
- $22 - $30 per hour
SCHEDULE
- 8-hour shifts
- Monday to Friday
