Contacts Inside: Routine inside contacts with various branch employees to troubleshoot computer system problems they may encounter. Weekly contact with supervisor to discuss job productivity is required. Set up and train new employees when necessary.
Contacts Outside: Contact with application vendors and software vendors for troubleshooting, warranty, and support. There might also occasionally be the need to have contact with our customers.
PURPOSE
Role and Responsibilities
- Operate as a helpdesk lead while offering Tier II helpdesk support to IT systems in conjunction with business processes by using the application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications.
- Engage in developing, maintaining, installing, using, and operating complex systems and subsystems.
- Engage in support of various departments (marketing, sales, purchasing, warehouse, etc.) daily to accomplish their goals.
- Offer coaching, training, and troubleshooting to all employees for core and supplemental applications.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Must be hungry for the success of Gresco and the IT team, be able to acknowledge their own strengths and weaknesses with a spirit of humility and have a high emotional intelligence and common sense toward people. This position requires the ability to work with multiple systems at one time. These systems primarily would be supplemental applications but will require familiarity with the core applications and databases, CRM, ecommerce site, website, and other systems. Must be able to use software to assist Gresco departments with daily functions. Other requests by the supervisor may be required in this position.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED (minimum required job-related knowledge):
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook, and various other computer- and internet-related programs.
- Solid understanding of general business applications.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
PREFERRED:
- 3 Years of IT-related work experience.
- Strong familiarity with database applications and their structure.
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of computer software and business processes that Gresco employs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office conditions. Requires on-call time 24/7 for emergencies only and several out of state trips per year. Last-minute requests and accuracy are required for multiple tasks. Some lifting of computer equipment up to 50 pounds may be required. Working hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with one hour for lunch.
