Join Greystone, a global leader in the production of high-volume precision machined and plated components. We specialize in safety-critical machining, hard chrome plating, and anodizing for the automotive, aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. We are currently seeking a skilled Machine Operator with experience in operating single-spindle screw machines. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining our machines to produce precision components according to specifications. This role includes a 90-day training program with a performance-based pay increase upon completion.
Responsibilities
- Operate the machine to produce components, monitor the production process, and make necessary adjustments to ensure the quality and efficiency of output.
- Conduct regular inspections of the produced components to ensure they meet quality standards. Identify and rectify any issues that may affect the quality of the products.
- Perform routine maintenance on the machine to ensure its optimal performance. Troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job orders, setup details, and quality control checks.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately.
- Work closely with team members, engineers, and supervisors to optimize production processes, resolve technical challenges, and achieve production targets.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating single spindle screw machines is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical understanding of machining processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues during production.
- Basic understanding of machine maintenance and repair.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Able to pass a pre-employment physical and execute physical requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training or certification in machining is a plus.
- One to three months job training; safety training in proper handling of equipment is preferred.
