COMPUTER TECHNICIAN II

Overview

PURPOSE:

To support our end users by installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining computer hardware and software as directed while providing coverage at various locations and shifts as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Troubleshoot end-user software and hardware issues; Install or replace / configure hard drives, monitors, RAM chips, I/O cards, video cards, and laser / ink / dot matrix, thermal printers.
• Must be able to troubleshoot basic networking connectivity issues, work independently, and troubleshoot CCTV systems.
• Require to work at various facilities within the company.
• Employee is expected to rotate to the various facilities in the greater Bakersfield area in order to gain a broad knowledge of the unique computer support needs of the entire organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to move about inside an office, dry, wet and cold production areas, expose to outside elements, and other areas throughout the company. Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment. Must have the ability to install and connect computer networking equipment in confined areas, sometimes low to the ground and sometimes at ceiling height. Must be able to move items weighing up to 75lbs, crawl under desks, and climb ladders.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be proficient with computer systems in a Microsoft Windows network environment, MCP, MCSE, or A certified.
• Must be able to follow directions and work independently.
• Must be able to support various facilities in the greater Bakersfield area when needed and or support a rotational schedule that includes various worksites for extended period of time. Assignment could vary from one day to multiple weeks.
• Candidate will be required to live in the Kern County area or within commuting distance.
• Must be able to work different shifts as required on a rotational basis.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Remote work not available for this position.
• Must have the ability to travel when needed to various Grimmway facilities.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record.
• Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation. Must pass background check.
