Data Platform Specialist

Overview
The Data Platform Specialist will support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of a scalable, secure, and high-performance data platform. This role combines architectural vision, engineering execution, and analytical insight to ensure the platform supports enterprise-wide data needs—from ingestion and transformation to advanced analytics and machine learning. The ideal candidate will collaborate across IT, analytics, and business teams to deliver a unified data ecosystem aligned with strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Platform Architecture & Strategy:

· Design and implement the structure of data systems including databases, data lakes, and warehouses.

· Define long-term technology strategy and innovation roadmaps across data engineering, analytics, and platform capabilities.

· Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies for data storage, processing, and analytics.

Data Engineering & Infrastructure:

· Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery from diverse sources (APIs, databases, external systems).

· Optimize workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability using tools like Apache Kafka, Spark, and Airflow.

· Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance through validation, monitoring, and metadata management.

Analytics Enablement & Collaboration:

· Partner with data scientists and analysts to support model development and deployment for AI/ML use cases.

· Translate business requirements into data models and reporting structures that support decision-making.

· Enable advanced analytics through integration of tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Python-based ML libraries.

Education and Experience Requirements

· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or related field.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· 6 years in data architecture, engineering, or analytics roles with proven success in enterprise-scale data initiatives.

· Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), modern data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks), and real-time data distribution.

· Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, C ) and data tools (SQL, R, SAS, Excel).

· Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and metadata systems.

· Familiarity with machine learning techniques and statistical modeling (e.g., PCA, clustering, CNNs, RNNs).

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across technical and business teams
