What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician I position at Ground Water Treatment?
Ground/Water Treatment & Technology, LLC (GWTT) is a leading environmental contractor located in Wharton, NJ. We offer design/build services for temporary and permanent treatment systems, and operation and maintenance services for a variety of soil, groundwater and wastewater treatment systems. GWTT provides construction, dewatering, remediation and environment construction services. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Safety as a top priority
- Routine maintenance of equipment
- Operate fork truck and telehandler
- Follow direction of supervisor, read and understand work orders, have an enthusiastic attitude, and be on-time and ready for work.
- Mechanical and basic assembly of projects with use of basic hand tools.
- Preparation of equipment for rental – cleaning, grinding, painting, loading carbon, pulling materials from stock, etc.
- Work within different divisions at GWTT
- Load/unload trucks of materials receiving
- Clean, power wash, grind, paint, unload carbon, restock material, etc.
- General shop and yard housekeeping – sweep, clean common areas, empty trash cans, snow removal, etc.
- Pickup and delivery of materials as necessary.
- Have a construction background (plumbing, carpentry helpful)
- Travel outside the tri-state area may be required
- Able to work overtime when needed. Weekend work on occasion
This role is part of a cross-training program offered at GWTT. The right candidate will begin this role in the Wharton, NJ shop where he/she will learn the skills necessary to rotate among the other divisions within GWTT.
Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record and must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen. Some experience in the environmental field is preferred although we are willing to train the right individual who is dependable, self-motivated, a team player and goal-oriented. OSHA 40-hour training is preferred but will be provided to the right candidate.
