Fire Alarm Technician
Seeking experienced Fire Alarm Technicians in Indian River County. A
Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for ensuring proper installation, service, and repair of the alarm detection system at the assigned job site.
Experience, Education, and General Background Skills
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge of Windows 10X, test equipment to include multimeters, battery analyzers, frequency meters, decibel meters and communicating devices.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform laborious and strenuous work for extended hours. Good communication, training, and planning skills. Sense of pride, integrity, and organizational ability. Must enjoy working independently and outdoors.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and meet all Insurance Carrier requirements.
Physical and Mental Demands
Requires constant (67%-100%) bending; reaching; stooping; pushing; pulling; grasping; standing; climbing tall heights; twisting; and lifting/carrying heavy pipe, equipment, and tools (up to 100 lbs unassisted). Requires occasional (0-33%) sitting and driving. Must possess stamina to perform physical labor for extended periods of time. Requires constant mental alertness, corrected vision, and hearing to normal range. Requires ability to communicate clearly and drive a vehicle. Must possess excellent hand-eye and gross motor coordination, plus manual dexterity.
Must be able to wear/utilize required safety equipment.
Special Equipment
Must be able to operate Windows 10X, test equipment to include millimeters, battery analyzers, frequency meters, decibel meters and communicating devices.
Position Duties (Basic)
- Installation, service and repair of fire alarm equipment.
- Inspection of fire alarm equipment
- Assist in the presentation and sale of Service Agreements, equipment, peripheral devices, overhauls and provide sales leads where appropriate.
- Programming and validation of operating systems according to customer specifications using manufacture’s code.
- Test and resolve problems.
- Train less experienced technicians and customers as necessary.
- Utilize pre-planned schedule to ensure all inspections are completed in a timely manner.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $30.00 per hour
