Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM – 4:30PM) No On-Call / Weekends

Job Overview: Responsible for developing and maintaining daily activities schedule for people served. Utilize Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS) as it relates to specific job duties. Assist and support people served in safely integrating into the community. Attend to the daily needs of persons served as well as fostering increased independence and self-advocacy. Identify and develop community sites for opportunities in integration, engagement and/or volunteerism that support the people served in achieving their goals. Assist people served to explore and identify meaningful recreational and social activities in the community. Provide ongoing support and training to staff in areas of service provision.
Responsibilities ·
- Responsible for identifying and developing new community sites on an on-going basis for community based activities and volunteering opportunities. ·
- Ensures community based activities and opportunities are continuously offered throughout the year. ·
- Provide opportunities for the people served by organizing, developing and implementing individual and/or group activities that are socially enriching in the community. ·
- Provide a supportive environment that facilitates opportunities for people served to determine and make personal choices for daily schedules and routines. ·
- Participate alongside the people served in various community activities (recreational activities, volunteering, educational classes) ·
- Assist people served to identify and make choices for activities through choice that are oriented toward their ISP goals and objectives. ·
- Create and review daily schedule and activity assignments with supervisor.
Qualifications: ·
- High School Diploma or GED required and at least 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities within a social, recreational, and/or educational environment. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related filed preferred. ·
- Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills. · Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a culturally diverse population of individuals, co-workers, care providers, family, community members and others. ·
- Ability to lift 30 pounds as needed. ·
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required. · Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite, internet access and/or similar software programs. ·
- Current First Aid, CPR, MAP and Crisis Intervention certificates or be able to obtain these within thirty (30) days of hire. ·
- Pass criminal background check (CORI) and National Fingerprint Background Check

Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour
