Role Overview :
The QC Technician is responsible for the inspection and testing of materials and finished products at various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure they comply with all applicable laws, industry codes & standards, as well as Company and Customer specifications / standards.
Job Responsibilities :
Develop and maintain inspection reports.
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications.
Maintain calibration of quality control equipment.
Perform inspections across all stages of production.
Prepare and maintain test data for review.
Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards.
Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly.
Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency.
Other duties as assigned by the QA Manager.
Required Qualifications :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Solid understanding of measuring, inspection and test equipment.
Minimum of 2-5 years of inspection and / or production experience in the metals fabrication industry.
Visual weld and welding inspection experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel.
Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions.
Ability to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. (minimum required visual acuity - 20 / 20 corrected or uncorrected)
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and fabrication drawings.
Preferred Qualifications :
Associate or bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
