Job Description

GRT Financial is in search of a driven and forward-thinking individual to execute, coordinate, track and oversee the accounting department for a growing company of approximately 100 employees. At GRT, our people are essential to delivering an exceptional product and the Controller is our team captain in creating an effective, efficient, exact, and evolving accounting department. You will work with a team that is caring, driven, accountable, adaptable, teamwork oriented with positive attitudes. As the head of our Accounting department, the Controller must exemplify our core values and shows an eagerness to make a real impact.

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual report packages; managing cash flow and investments; collaborating with the auditing and banking partners; maintaining the accounting systems; and supervising employees while working in a hybrid atmosphere of in-office and remote.

What does this job look like:

  • Oversee the monthly closing process including revenue and expense reports, bank reconciliations, etc. and ensuring that all financial statements are GAAP compliant for multiple companies
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry—ensuring mathematical accuracy
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Analyses, research, reconcile and maintain investment portfolios
  • Ensuring the preparation of high integrity financial statements by orienting the accounting team towards asking questions and understanding the business.
  • Coordinate with CFO regarding Semi-annual and Year End audits
  • Create and Maintain Departmental Budgets
  • Assist in Creating and Maintaining Forecasting Reports

What makes you right for the job:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with QuickBooks or similar Accounting Software
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (Vlookups, pivot tables, index matches)
  • Experience with a BI tool (Domo, Tableau) a plus
  • Ability to Take initiative and think proactively
  • Ability to Meet deadlines with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Expert Knowledge of accounting policies and practices
  • Must possess strong budgeting and forecasting skills
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Controller
  • Bachelor’s degree Required / CPA a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
