Grundfos USA is seeking an Application Engineer to join its CBS (Commercial Building Services) CSSC (Customer Sales Support Center) Back Office team.
As an Application Engineer, you will contribute to a thriving CSSC Back Office team by providing timely and effective technical advice to the incoming inquiries through various Customer channels i.e. telephone, E-mail, live chat, instant messaging etc. You will provide subject matter technical support by delivering world class Customer Service by handling complex and escalated inquiries/quotations for the customers.
This position reports directly to the CBS CSSC Manager and will operate on a hybrid schedule out of our Americas headquarters in Brookshire, TX.
Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

Your main responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance to Customers regarding the product sizing, applications, system solutions, accessories, installations, prices, etc. assuring the functionality of the solution in practice.
- Identify and implement value-added services and enhance customer relationship.
- Support sales teams by handling tenders and projects, include providing dimension, specifications, calculations, time of delivery, operation and maintenance issues, etc.
- Identify business opportunities and handover to external sales.
- Provide assistances and/or solutions for the CSSC Back Office teams / Application Engineers.
- In cases act as a deputy in a local team setting as defined leadership.
- Provide local support for fixed I/O controls and PLC based control systems. Tasks included; support of control system layout, revisions of existing designs, and support during factory testing.
We imagine that you have:
- A Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering or equivalent work experience (minimum of 3 years of experience in centrifugal pumps).
- Application engineering experience in a similar industry.
- Previous experience within Customer Services. Relevant administrative experience, organizational skills & accountability with the Customer.
- Knowledge of business structure, products and key market needs to create a good Customer centric experience.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, (we use SAP CRM/SD) would be a plus.
- Familiarity with MS Office applications.
- Fundamental Product and Application Knowledge of pump and pumping systems – Pumps, Control panels, Motor, motor protection systems, Variable speed drives and pump accessories.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Can effectively handle several complex problems or tasks at once.
- The willingness to share information, advice, and suggestions to assist others to be more successful.
- Experience in anticipating customer’s future needs.
- Good communication and networking skills together with the ability to build relationships with both Internal and External Stakeholders.
- Must work effectively in a team environment.
- Can listen carefully to determine customer needs.
