Position: Tooling Technician

FLSA Exemption: Non-Exempt

Location: GS Engineering, Maumee, OH

Status: Full-time

Summary of Position

The Tooling Technician will be responsible for the manufacturing and finishing of our production and prototype thermoforming tooling and parts. The essentials duties are as follow but are not limited to:

Essential Duties

· Manufacturing, building, and finishing/polishing our production and prototype tooling and parts by hand and using tools; examination of all surface areas during finishing process.

· Assist customers during production tooling trials

· Performing service and periodic maintenance on vacuum forming tools

· Assisting in tool changes

· Utilizing carpentry skills to build tooling fixtures and shipping crates

· Assembling and gluing modeling boards for CNC machining

· Assisting in shop maintenance tasks as necessary

Experience Requirements

· Must be proactive and show initiative in taking on and completing projects

· Professionalism in a customer-facing position

· Bench Hand experience

· Exceptional attention to detail

· Comfortable with repetitive tasks

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

· Full use of both hands/arms for reaching, pulling, grabbing, and use of hand tools

· Full use of both hands for pulling, grabbing, twisting, turning, and grasping to assemble objects

· Full use of both hands for utilizing hand tools

· Full use of fingers to grasp, move, or assemble small objects

· Full use of both arms for pulling, picking up to 50lb; ability to bend, stretch, twist, and reach out

· Ability to make quick, precise adjustments on manual machinery

· Ability to hold arm and hand in one position or hold hand steady while moving the arm

· Move two or more limbs together (e.g. two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place

· Ability to use muscles/all limbs for extended period

· Standing and sitting for extended periods

Additional Requirements

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent

· Local candidates only

· Must have a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record

· CDL certification is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
