UAS Mission Payload Operator – MPO (CONUS)
General: The MPO is primarily responsible for the operation of the Full Motion Video (FMV) payload during flight operation. MPO duties include functional check during UAS power-up and preflight, perform camera operation of the aircraft on missions, and provide situational awareness of weather around the aircraft during transit.
Responsibilities: The MPO is responsible for the coordinating with the customer and flight crew, operate the payload to support mission requirements, understand payloads capabilities and limitations, maintain an up-to-date situational awareness of current mission operations, and quickly gain an understanding of the target environment. The selected individual will be comfortable working with an experimental program, able to voice recommendations for manual updates, and flexible enough to adapt to sudden changes in mission tasking.
Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience with Air Vehicle Sensors and subsystem operation.
- Knowledge and experience with Air Vehicle Technical Manuals, Payload Manuals, service guidance (General systems, Job Guides, Fault Isolation a plus)
- Current Active Secret (or Higher) Clearance
- 1 year as a MPO of a Group 3 or larger Platform
- Class 2 FAA Pilot Medical or able to get one
- Excellent Verbal communication skills
- Excellent Organization skills
- Clean Background Check
- Experience with Windows Operating Systems, knowledge of computer program’s structure
- Troubleshooting software issues of Payload System Interface
- Ability to work extended hours and shift work
Preferred Requirements:
- Multiple UAS Platform experience
- Previous AIMs and MX-15 qualified
