Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR I) plays a vital frontline role in delivering compassionate, high-quality diagnostic services. As the face of our organization, this entry-level position involves collecting blood specimens, supporting laboratory operations, and ensuring a positive patient experience. The PSR I works under the supervision of the area supervisor, combining technical skill and interpersonal communication to represent trust, care, and clinical excellence.
- Perform accurate and safe blood draws from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Prepare specimens for lab processing in compliance with established procedures.
- Maintain clean, safe, and professional work areas and uphold infection control standards.
- Engage directly with patients to explain procedures and build comfort and trust.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
- Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection duties.
- Represent the organization professionally to clients, patients, and the public.
- Ensure flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency
- 1 years of phlebotomy experience preferred
- Prior customer service experience in a healthcare or retail setting
- Medical assistant or paramedic training
- Experience with pediatric and geriatric patient interactions
- Phlebotomy (pediatric and geriatric)
- Patient interaction & customer service
- Documentation accuracy
- CompTIA A , MCP/MTA, or equivalent certifications (optional)
- Knowledge of medical/lab equipment handling
- Time management and flexibility
